According to Watch Hollywood, the organizing committee of the Venice Film Festival announced that actor Tony Leung and director Liliana Cavani ("Midnight Gatekeeper" and "The Devil Ripley") have won the Golden Lion Award for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice Film Festival and will participate in this year's film festival. Awarded during the Venice period (August 10-September 9 this year).
He previously starred in "A City of Sadness" directed by Hou Hsiao-hsien, and "Tricycle Driver" directed by Chen Yingxiong also won the Golden Lion Award at the Venice Film Festival. Before Tony Leung, John Woo (2010) and Xu Anhua (2020) also won the award.
When Tony Leung received the news, he expressed his great honor: "I hope to celebrate this award with all the filmmakers I have worked with, and this award is also a tribute to all of them."
