Renowned American Comic Artist Romita Passes Away at 93, Known for Involvement in 'The Amazing Spider-Man' and More

According to Sina Entertainment, renowned American comic artist John Romita Jr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 12 at the age of 93. His son and creative collaborator, John Romita III, announced the news on social media. Romita began his comic career in 1949 and had the opportunity to meet Stan Lee. He initially worked for DC Comics before joining Marvel in 1965.
Romita initially worked on 'Daredevil' and took over from Steve Ditko the following year to work on 'The Amazing Spider-Man,' where he created the character Mary Jane Watson. Some of his other notable comic works include 'Wolverine,' 'The Punisher,' 'Uncanny X-Men,' 'Iron Man,' and 'Kick-Ass,' among others.
