According to Dexerto, the series "Cleopatra" has become one of the worst-reviewed shows of all time on Netflix. It currently has a 2% favorable rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
This documentary tells the story of one of history's greatest legends, Queen Cleopatra, charting her rise and eventual downfall as the last queen of an Egyptian dynasty.
Many viewers, especially those in Egypt, criticized the show's decision to cast black actress Adele James in the lead role as historically inaccurate. As Forbes notes, "There is no very solid evidence that Cleopatra was black, but rather that she was of Macedonian-Greek descent."
Some critics were also disappointed, describing Cleopatra's acting and production as "soap opera" quality.
Some viewers said it was a rather incoherent and uninteresting episode. Some acknowledged that the acting was passable, but noted that "the story is slow and terrible."
