As reported by Peninsula Urban Daily, on August 16th, the Luotai Law Firm in Henan released a statement. Acting on behalf of the Luoyang Sui-Tang Historical Society, they sent a legal letter to the producers and director of the film "Journey of Chang'an: Three Thousand Miles."

Since its nationwide release, the movie "Journey of Chang'an: Three Thousand Miles" has received widespread acclaim and achieved remarkable box office success, drawing a large audience and exerting significant influence on society. It played a crucial role in popularizing historical knowledge, boosting cultural confidence, and enhancing the quality of domestic animated films.

However, certain plot elements and character stories depicted in the film diverge from historical realities, potentially misleading viewers, especially young audiences, and causing emotional distress to those connected to the birthplaces and events of historical figures.

After conducting research, discussions, and analyses, the Luoyang Sui-Tang Historical Society identified at least four instances where the film's plot deviates from historical truths. With the aim of preserving historical accuracy and seriousness and upholding the authenticity of crucial historical figures and events, the society entrusted the Luotai Law Firm to send a legal letter to Shanghai Zheiguang Film Co., Ltd., the producers of "Journey of Chang'an: Three Thousand Miles," as well as the film's director, Xie Junwei, and Zou Jing. The letter urges them to rectify the inaccuracies in the film's plot and issue an apology to the audience.

Upon receiving the commission, the Luotai Law Firm appointed a team consisting of lawyers Hu Jianwei, Qiu Shuaibiao, Fang Jiaming, and Huang Xuan (intern). This team watched the film, collected historical data, and conducted interviews with professional researchers from the Luoyang Sui-Tang Historical Society to compose the "Legal Letter." This document was mailed to Shanghai Zheiguang Film Co., Ltd. on August 13th, 2023.

Next, Luotai Law Firm will maintain communication with the film's producers and director in accordance with the authorization granted by the Luoyang Sui-Tang Historical Society.
