GamesRadar+ news. Speaking to The Press, Chris Pratt was open about Star-Lord's future on the big screen, but only if it matched the world James Gunn created.

"It would be weird to continue Star-Lord's story without Gunn," Chriss said. "Gonn was nothing short of a master in these three films. We really found Peter Quill's voice together, and I would never have had the opportunity without him. So if you want to continue to tell this story, the most important thing is to respect what he did in the first three films, respect what fans love about the character, and not just because of the box office."

Chris continued: "I don't want to be cynical about it, and if that was the case (just for the box office), I wouldn't be doing it (continuing to play Star-Lord) at all."

James Gunn first cast him in 2013, changing his career trajectory and taking him from comedian to Hollywood leading man.

Chris said of their partnership: "We've been through a lot together, we've been supporting each other over the years of filmmaking. It's 15 to 16 hours a day on set, away from family, with the people we love. Isolation, it also makes us a family."

Chris added that they also grew up outside of the movies. "It's been 10 years," he continued wistfully. "Not just making films, releasing films, promoting films, but the big moments in life - births, weddings, etc. Our friendship was cemented over and over again, so that even after we stopped working together, we still do. Been talking on the phone."

Looking back on the journey of "Guardians of the Galaxy 3", the actor sincerely stated that the third part, as the end of the series, is a love letter to the fans who have been with them all the way.
