DC's new "Superman" casting new news: Luthor may become black

Regarding the selection of the new Superman actor and the casting of "Superman: Inheritance", foreign media Deadline and theWrap also broke the news. There are some contradictions with THR's first report, and there are some new information:

Both Deadline and theWrap stated: Nicholas Hoult is not the candidate for Luthor in the film, but the candidate for Superman. Other actors in the Superman casting discussion include David Colensway, Jacob Elordi, and Andrew Richardson. THR's statement is: Nicholas Hoult is a candidate for Luthor, and it seems to be a relatively certain one among the current casts.

Regarding the role of Lex Luthor, Deadline wrote: Director James Gunn has approached some A-list actors he has worked with on this. The source said: One of the characters tried for the film is simply labeled "Apex", which may refer to "Apex Luthor"-this version of Luthor in the comics is a hybrid of human and Martian bodies, very powerful, It can compete with Superman, and it also has the possibility of involving the multiverse.

(Deadline reporter Justin Kroll, who wrote the story, tweeted: Gunn had talks with an actor in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 about the role of Luthor during the film's promotional period, but it likely didn't work out.)

theWrap's report also mentioned that this may be Luthor's "Apex" role, and revealed that Gunn wanted to find a black actor for the role, but it is not yet certain that Gunn's version of Luthor Thur is Apex Luthor.

Regarding the role of Louis Lane, there is little difference between the two and THR. Deadline also revealed: Emma McGee, Rachel Brosnahan, Phoebe Dyneve, Samara Weaving participated in the competition; theWrap did not mention Dyneveh, also said Brosnahan's performance outstanding.

Both reports indicated that Gunn is still watching the audition self-recommendation video, and it is still too early to make a final decision. Deadline revealed that May 4th is the deadline for self-recommended video submissions, and a decision is expected to be made in the next few months.
