Disney's Chief Diversity Officer Resigns After Leading Inclusive Program Initiatives

Disney announced the departure of Latondra Newton, the Chief Diversity Officer and Senior Vice President who had been with the company for six years. A week ago, Disney's Chief Financial Officer Christine McCarthy also stepped down from her position.

During her tenure at Disney, Latondra Newton was primarily focused on overseeing the production of entertaining programs for a global audience and fostering an inclusive and popular work environment. She led Disney's strategic diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, including collaborations with stakeholders across the organization.

It is worth noting that prior to her role at Disney, Latondra Newton served as the Chief Diversity Officer at Toyota North America. Insider sources revealed that she will join the board of a creative company she personally owns.
