Foreign media: Just like TLOU, "God of War" episodes can also carry out bold innovations

Five years ago, the Santa Monica studio released "God of War 2018", an IP that hadn't received a major sequel for nearly a decade once again shined.

Last year, after the launch and success of "God of War: Ragnarok," Amazon announced that it would make a live-action adaptation of "God of War."

In fact, video game adaptations are experiencing a renaissance, with The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Dungeons & Dragons and The Last of Us all proving that the gap between games and the medium is not insurmountable.

And foreign media gamerant said that, just like the "Last Survivor" TV series, the best content in the "God of War" TV series may not come from the game.

The third episode of HBO's "The Last of Us" series, titled "A Long, Long Time," adapted the story of Bill and Frank. In the original game, the player relied on Bill to find transportation and learned that he used to work with a buddy named Frank, only to discover that Frank committed suicide after being infected. And although the two are partners and friends, Bill has some resentment towards Frank.

In The Last of Us, HBO dedicates an entire hour to delving into Bill and Frank's relationship, widely regarded as one of the best love stories on television. Even though the show has adapted the duo's characters, Gamerant says it was all worth it. And expressed the hope that the TV series "God of War" can do the same.

Gamerant said that being true to the original is what Amazon needs to do with God of War, but it shouldn't be afraid to innovate experimentally. This kind of innovation is responsible for some of the best shots in The Last of Us TV series, and hopefully God of War will do the same.
