Miss Italy Beauty Pageant Bans Transgender Contestants: Female Identity Required from Birth!

According to the report from 'News Weekly,' after the first transgender beauty pageant champion (Miss Netherlands) emerged in beauty pageant history, the Miss Italy beauty pageant announced that transgender individuals will not be allowed to participate.

Patronzia Mirigliani, the official sponsor of Miss Italy, said in an interview, 'Recently, some beauty pageants have been trying to create news hotspots and have used strategies that I find a bit absurd. My pageant has already explicitly stipulated that contestants must be female from birth.'

A public opinion poll shows that Italy's support for transgender rights is generally on par with other Western countries. In 2016, the UCLA School of Law Institute conducted a public opinion poll in 23 countries, including Italy, to measure global support for transgender individuals. Among them, the majority in 21 countries, including Italy, 'support policies that prohibit discrimination against transgender individuals.'
