Jason Momoa Uncertain About Continuing as Aquaman: Bleak Prospects

Jason Momoa is unsure about his future in the role of Aquaman. In a recent interview, the actor expressed uncertainty about the future of the DC superhero series.

"I'm not sure how it's going to end, but I don't think it's up to me," Momoa said. He further added that the new heads of the DC studio, James Gunn and Peter Safran, "want to launch their own new ventures." He stated, "In fact, if audiences enjoy 'Aquaman 2,' there might be a chance. But right now, I feel the prospects are not too optimistic. I love this character, and I want to play it long-term. I have some ideas for its future. There are a lot of cool things that can be done even in the next 10 years. I love this character and this world. So, in the end, it depends on whether the audience likes it."

Jason Momoa first portrayed the character in 2017's "Justice League," and later starred in the standalone film "Aquaman." The upcoming "Aquaman 2," set to be released on December 22, will be the final installment in the DC universe since 2013.

It is worth noting that in the new batch of DC universe releases in January of this year, "Aquaman" was not included, which may be one of the reasons for Jason's uncertainty about the future of "Aquaman."
