Fan Wei Stars! Apple Announces Spring Festival Short Film "Little Garlic" Shot with iPhone

According to official Apple news, the annual Spring Festival short film has been officially announced and is set to premiere on January 28. Starring Fan Wei, directed by Mark Webb of "The Amazing Spider-Man," and written by Pan Yiran, the film tells a fantastical tale of a young girl with the ability to transform at will. Apple has been releasing a new short film shot with the iPhone every year before the Spring Festival, and this time, the film was entirely shot using the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Looking back at the past years' Spring Festival short films, in 2018, Apple's New Year short film was "Three Minutes," directed by Chen Kaige and shot with the iPhone X. In 2019, "A Bucket," directed by Jia Zhangke and shot with the iPhone XS. In 2020, "Daughter," directed by Oscar-nominated director Theodore Melfi, starring Zhou Xun, and shot with the iPhone 11 Pro. In 2021, "An Nian," directed by Golden Globe-nominated director Wang Ziyi, shot with the iPhone 12 Pro Max. In 2022, "Rise Again," directed by Zhang Meng of "The Piano in a Factory," shot with the iPhone 13 Pro. In 2023, "Overcoming Five Obstacles," directed by Venice Film Festival award-winning director Peng Fei, shot with the iPhone 14 Pro.
