Marvel Executives Surprised by Negative Reception of "Ant-Man 3"

In the latest episode of "The Watch" podcast, author Joanna Robinson, known for her book "Marvel Universe: Reign of Marvel Studios," revealed that Marvel Studio executives were genuinely taken aback by the negative reviews of "Ant-Man 3."
" 'Ant-Man 3' truly shook them because they thought it was quite impressive. They all believed that 'everyone will love this one,' " Robinson stated. "Then they released 'Ant-Man 3,' but the audience's response did not align with their expectations. Subsequently, they stated, 'Oh no, our internal barometer no longer meets people's needs.' "
These unfavorable reviews, including those about "Ant-Man 3," rang alarm bells for Marvel as they seemed to lose touch with what the audience desires. This prompted significant adjustments to their projects. Recently, Marvel Studios dismissed the writers and directors of "Daredevil: Reborn" because they were dissatisfied after viewing the completed film. Now, Marvel Studios is altering its approach to project production, opting for a format more akin to traditional network television, producing multiple seasons, rather than being confined to 6-9 episodes per season.
