Crackdown on Self-Media Chaos: Multiple Top Internet Celebrities Banned Within a Month

On September 2nd, the highly popular internet celebrity with 12 million followers, known as "Scholar," had their account banned. Just a few days earlier, on August 31st, the topic "Internet Car Reviewer Mr. Cai Gets Banned" also trended on Weibo. Both of these influencers were banned by the same leading domestic short video platform, which already had 5.54 million followers.

Public reports reveal that since the end of July, within just over a month, several top-tier internet celebrities with millions, even tens of millions of followers, have been successively banned by mainstream short video platforms. They not only had their accounts suspended but also had their live streaming privileges indefinitely revoked.

Furthermore, on the night of August 16th, a top influencer on a short video platform with over 48 million followers, known as "Two Donkeys," was conducting an outdoor live stream in Qingdao when several men suddenly intruded. They bound him to a car and engaged in a series of disputes, even making terrifying statements about "burying him alive." This shocking "incident" garnered significant attention, but the plot quickly took a surprising turn.

On August 18th, Qingdao Public Security Bureau's Shibei Branch reported that this whole affair was purely a "scripted live performance for the sake of gaining traffic and attracting followers." In accordance with the investigation, the relevant individuals have been legally penalized, and their accounts have been permanently banned by the platform.
