A-List Hollywood Stars Join Forces to End Hollywood Standstill

According to gamespot, Hollywood heavyweights George Clooney, Emma Stone, Ben Affleck, Taylor Perry, Scarlett Johansson, and others are teaming up to try to change the situation in Hollywood, with the goal of revitalizing the industry.

They've put forward a proposal aimed at fundamentally reforming the union dues structure and executive compensation system to benefit lower-level industry workers. This plan involves removing the cap on union dues and redirecting funds to AMPTP signatories to support healthcare and other areas that SAG-AFTRA is trying to uphold.

Clooney told Deadline, "Many high earners are willing to contribute to finding a solution. We propose eliminating the dues cap, which would bring in over $50 million in additional revenue for the union annually, with over $150 million in additional funds over the next three years. We believe it's only fair that we pay more in union dues. We also suggest adopting a bottom-up compensation structure, meaning those at the top of the pay scale will be the last to receive compensation, not the first."

Clooney added that these negotiations are ongoing, but the entire collective wants to demonstrate their commitment to narrowing the pay gap among actors and fostering a more equitable industry environment.
