According to Variety reports, Nicolas Cage said when he received the award last Sunday local time that he does not need to join the MCU anymore, he is Nicolas Cage.
Accepting the award, he reflected on the many film projects he's been involved in, as well as the ones he's never worked on. "I'm happy with the Marvel movies because I named myself after Stan Lee's Luke Cage. What should I do, put the Marvel movies aside? Stan Lee is me surreal The father of ideology," he said when asked about the state of superhero movies today.
So, does he want to be in the MCU? His answer is simple: "I don't need to be in the MCU. I'm Nicolas Cage."
