Official Response to Mayday Concert Controversy: Determination Pending

Recently, Mayday faced allegations of lip-syncing during their concert, sparking widespread attention. A blogger conducted a video analysis of 12 songs from Mayday's Shanghai concert, leading to the trend "Mayday Lip-Sync Analysis" on Weibo.

Blogger "Wheat Farmer" analyzed fan-shot footage of 12 songs, extracting vocals for in-depth analysis. According to the assessment, "Cheers," "Love ING," "Contentment," "Missed Lover," "Don't Listen to Slow Songs When You're Sad" were deemed lip-synced, while the initial lines of "Writing This Song for You" were lip-synced, followed by genuine singing.

On December 3, Beijing's Cultural Market Comprehensive Law Enforcement Team responded, stating they would document the situation and make determinations based on the specifics. "If there is further investigation, we will publicly announce it on official platforms," they added. An officer mentioned that for Mayday's six concerts in Beijing this year, law enforcement personnel were present to monitor whether the performance matched the approved content, emphasizing their proximity to the central control booth.

Additionally, a Shanghai Cultural and Tourism Bureau representative suggested calling back on a weekday, as this matter did not qualify as an emergency. They expressed intention to continue monitoring developments in the situation.
