On December 11, several netizens spread news on social media about the alleged demise of actress Zhou Haimei, though it is yet to be officially confirmed.

According to media reports, when asked about Zhou Haimei's condition, some staff members chose to hang up the phone, seemingly reluctant to discuss. Another staff member, upon hearing the artist's name, quickly terminated the call, claiming to be engaged in social activities. Zhou Haimei's friends revealed that they had contacted her just yesterday and did not notice anything unusual. However, attempts to reach Zhou Haimei directly now result in unanswered calls.

Reporters found two contact numbers for Zhou Haimei's studio in her Weibo profile, but calls to both went unanswered. It is noted that Zhou Haimi celebrated her 57th birthday on December 6, and her last social media update was on December 8, where she shared stills from many of her past works and interacted with fans. As of the time of writing, the earliest netizen who shared this news on Weibo has removed the post.

Public records show that Zhou Haimei joined the TVB Actor Training Class in 1985 and subsequently became an actress, debuting in the television series "Yang's Generals." In 1989, she rose to fame with the TV drama "Righteous War."
