At the end of June, a spokesperson for Universal stated that the plans for the movie in all markets had not been finalized. Since then, there have been rumors of a ban in Japan. However, the decision still lies with Toho-Towa, the distributor responsible for releasing American films in Japan. They had not seen the film when Universal's statement was released at the end of last month.
