"Stardew Valley" Creator Discusses Potential Film Adaptation: Hopes for Studio Ghibli's Involvement

Eric Barone, the creator of "Stardew Valley," emphasized his strong attachment to the intellectual property in an interview with IGN. He stated, "I highly value my creation and won't easily entrust it to others to make a film like 'Stardew Valley.'" "I must be actively involved."
However, he continued to express that he would consider the project only if specific and respected studios were interested. He said, "If Studio Ghibli or David Lynch were to express interest in directing a 'Stardew Valley' movie, I would gladly agree and let them take the helm."
Barone also mentioned that there have been some intriguing opportunities for "Stardew Valley," but he believes that providing voiceovers for the characters and allowing them to move independently comes with certain risks, leading to the current project being put on hold.
