According to Hollywood Reporter, the Venice Film Festival has announced that Chinese actress Shu Qi will serve as a jury member for this year's/80th edition of the main competition section.

Shu Qi has now completed the trifecta of being a jury member for the three major European film festivals (she was a jury member at the Berlinale in 2008 and at Cannes in 2009), becoming the third Chinese actress to achieve this feat. The previous two were Gong Li and Maggie Cheung.

Shu Qi, born in 1976, is a Chinese-language actress and model. In 1998, she appeared in the gangster film 'Young and Dangerous: The Prequel,' for which she won the Best Supporting Actress award at the 18th Hong Kong Film Awards and the 35th Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan. In 2005, she starred in the romantic film 'Three Times,' earning her the Best Actress award at the 42nd Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan. In 2008, she starred in the comedy film 'If You Are the One,' winning the Outstanding Overseas Chinese Actress award at the 13th China Film Performance Awards.
