Beijing Arrests 143 Scalpers in Crackdown on Illegal Ticket Reselling

China News Network, citing Beijing Daily, reports that multiple departments in Beijing launched a 5-month-long special operation to combat the illegal ticket reselling activities of scalpers in the performance ticket market, also known as 'yellow cows'.

According to the plan titled 'Special Operation to Combat the Illegal Ticket Reselling Issues of Scalpers in the Commercial Performance Ticket Market', Beijing defined specific responsibilities and tasks in 10 areas, including ticket source management, ticket sales regulation, on-site enforcement, and industry self-discipline. As a result, 143 scalpers were captured.

Currently, the presence of scalpers around key performance venues has significantly reduced, and the online activities of scalpers have been curbed, showing remarkable effectiveness in the special operation.
