Insufficient Actors in Hengdian: 252 Production Crews Hosted in the First Half

The scorching summer movie market has accelerated the pace of film and television production. At the popular ancient-themed set "Changle Street" in Hengdian, Zhejiang, 7 production crews are currently negotiating for scenery setups and shooting schedules in August.
It's understood that in the first half of the year, Hengdian Film and Television Studio has already hosted a staggering 252 production crews, marking a 60% increase compared to the same period last year. As of the end of July, there are 48 crews actively working on various projects. Industry insiders indicate that with the continuous rise in the number of approved TV and film projects in the latter half of the year, the trend of multiple crews starting productions might persist. Moreover, in Hengdian, it's not only the demand for featured actors that's ongoing, but also a growing need for new talents. Xu Ding, an actor who arrived in Hengdian in February, shared that he's currently in the situation of juggling conflicting roles due to overlapping offers. "I received three offers at the same time, one of which has a longer filming period, causing me to turn down two roles," he revealed.
