Bilibili to Replace View Count with Watch Time for Premium Long Videos

In his speech titled 'Glad to Meet You' at Bilibili's 14th anniversary celebration, Chairman and CEO Chen Rui emphasized the value created by dedicating more than 10 years to a particular endeavor, making life more meaningful.

Chen Rui stated that watch time is a better indicator of video quality than view count. Therefore, Bilibili will replace the view count with watch time as the displayed metric. Despite the higher complexity and cost associated with this statistical method, Bilibili is now capable of tracking watch time and plans to complete the product update in the following weeks.
