Recently, the DC superhero film "The Flash" has wrapped up its global theatrical run. After being in theaters for nine weeks, the movie has garnered a total worldwide box office of approximately $268.5 million, with a domestic box office of $25.45 million. In comparison to similar films, this latest addition to the DC Universe has barely surpassed the 2008 movie "The Incredible Hulk" ($264 million) in terms of box office performance.

Sources reveal that even though "The Flash" has received favorable reviews within the DC Universe as one of the standout superhero films in recent years, its production cost soared to nearly $300 million. Following a general rule of thumb, a movie usually needs to generate 2.5 to 3 times its production cost in box office revenue to break even. Evidently, "The Flash," a highly anticipated Warner Bros. production, has now been confirmed to be in the red zone financially.
