"Mario" movie used DK Rap soundtrack but did not identify the original author
2023-04-05
The "Super Mario Bros." movie has been officially released today. In the movie, the addition of "DK Rap" has attracted people's attention, but according to thegamer, the original composer has not been added to the movie credits.
"I was really looking forward to seeing my name in the DK Rap credits, but as expected, it wasn't," Kirkhope tweeted. Although the composer himself didn't appear to have seen the film, a fan told him about it on Twitter.
It's a shame really, because Kirkhope was excitedly tweeting about including rap in the movie just a week ago. Seth Rogen, who played Donkey Kong in the movie, called it the worst rap ever. Kirkhope couldn't agree more, saying he was surprised it was included in the film more than 20 years after its creation.
