Elliot Page Makes Red Carpet Debut as a Transgender Actor in "Close to You"
Recently, transgender actor Elliot Page made his red carpet debut at the Toronto International Film Festival, sporting a new look as he stars in the film "Close to You." This marks his first lead role in a film in six years and his debut as a transgender male actor.
Elliot Page, born in 1987, is a Canadian film and television actor. He previously starred in the 2005 thriller "Fruit Hard Candy" and portrayed Shadowcat in the 2006 sci-fi action film "X-Men: The Last Stand." In 2010, he appeared in the sci-fi action film "Inception" and earned a nomination for the Most Frightening Performance at the 20th MTV Movie Awards. In 2013, he played the lead role in the action-adventure game "Beyond: Two Souls" and provided motion capture for the character Jodie.
However, in 2020, Elliot Page publicly announced his transgender identity, underwent surgery to alter his appearance, and declared that he has a wife, bidding farewell to his previous female identity. His red carpet appearance signifies a fresh chapter in his career in the film industry.
