Shawn Yue Once Struggled with Anxiety, Feared Public Occasions, Numbness and Suffocation Gripped Him

Recently, Hong Kong actor Shawn Yue made a rare appearance at an outdoor brand event. It had been a while since he had been seen in public gatherings. As soon as he grabbed the microphone, he openly admitted that he had hardly participated in any public events since the outbreak of the pandemic.

"I've become increasingly uncomfortable in public occasions," he confessed. He revealed that this was due to a past struggle with anxiety. The first signs of this anxiety disorder emerged in 2017 during a long-haul flight to France. He recounted feeling a sudden shortness of breath and a loss of emotional control, which frightened him deeply.

This recent bout of anxiety not only led him to reduce his public appearances but also resulted in some awkward moments. On one occasion, he experienced an anxiety attack during an event, leaving him unable to control his emotions and even missing his medication on time.

"I would suddenly feel intense fear and lose control over my condition. During these episodes, I would desperately want to leave. But things have improved considerably now. I had a prolonged period of rest in between, so I'm in a more stable state," he shared.

In addition, Shawn also highlighted his deep commitment to his family. He has now settled in Taiwan and enjoys a blissful family life with two children.

He expressed his desire to spend more time with his children, leading him to cut down on his work commitments.
