On July 11th, it was announced that the film 'Fengshen,' directed by Wu Ershan, held its premiere ceremony in Beijing, featuring renowned stars such as Huang Bo, Yuan Quan, Fei Xiang, and Xia Yu.
Of particular note is that 'Fengshen' is the first film collaboration between Yuan Quan and her idol, Fei Xiang. The two shook hands and chatted backstage at the Beijing premiere of 'Fengshen.' The presales for the film have already begun, and it will be released on July 20th.
In an interview, director Wu Ershan expressed his early fascination with the story of 'Fengshen,' a national myth known to everyone. Adapting the extensive story of 'Fengshen Yanyi' into a film posed a great challenge. After analyzing the original framework and narrative characteristics, the decision to adapt it as a 'trilogy' was made in order to present the essence of this grand myth.
It is reported that the 'Fengshen Trilogy' adopts a narrative structure where each film can stand alone, while the three films together constitute a complete story. This series has become the first work in the history of Chinese cinema to be created through the continuous shooting of three parts.
