At the premiere of the movie "Creation of the Gods," Zhang Yimou commended Zhao Liying, who collaborated with him for the first time. He mentioned her portrayal of a hearing-impaired character, saying, "She surprised me a lot. She stayed silent on set, didn't talk to me. I even forgot she was in character. Later, I learned she was immersing herself in the role.

Zhao Liying shared her experience playing a hearing-impaired character: "I'm here to learn. It's my first time working with the director on such a challenging role. Although the time wasn't long, it was a valuable experience. I felt safe and comfortable throughout the process, even wearing earplugs on set. Facing many teachers made me nervous, but I incorporated that feeling into the character. If everyone communicates with me using sign language, half the success is achieved.
