On Wednesday, 'Barbie' earned an additional $23 million in the North American box office, dropping 12 points compared to Tuesday. This performance still significantly exceeds the record holder for Warner's domestic box office, 'The Dark Knight,' which earned $18.4 million on its second Wednesday (-12%), and it also surpasses the July opening weekend record holder, 'The Lion King,' which grossed $17 million on its sixth day (-44%).

With a total of $237.13 million in the domestic box office during the first six days of release, 'Barbie' has already surpassed 'Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania' ($214 million) to rank fifth for the year. It is expected to easily surpass the $300 million mark by this weekend and challenge the summer champions, 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' ($359 million) and 'Spider-Man: Across the Universe' ($376 million).

Overseas, 'Barbie' earned an estimated $33 million on Wednesday, according to unofficial statistics, showing a slight decline from Tuesday. The movie continues to perform well in Europe and Latin America. The UK leads with a total of $39.5 million, followed closely by Mexico with $32.5 million. Additionally, it performs strongly in Brazil, Australia, France, Italy, Spain, and Germany. The overseas box office is close to the $300 million mark, totaling $294 million as of the end of Wednesday.
