"Godzilla-1.0" Director Envisions Sequel: Introducing Formidable Antagonist Monsters

According to comicbook reports, director Takashi Yamazaki recently interviewed by HJ Web, reviewed his past directing experiences, and shared insights into the sequel of the movie.

Yamazaki expressed the need for more monsters in the sequel, not just Godzilla, suggesting the introduction of an opponent monster equal in strength to Godzilla. He said, "If given the opportunity to direct the next 'Godzilla' film, I would shoot the sequel to 'Godzilla-1.0.' I believe the next movie should feature a prominent antagonist monster."

Yamazaki's directed "Godzilla-1.0" received positive responses after its release last year, even earning a nomination for the Best Visual Effects Award at the 96th Academy Awards, marking the first nomination for the "Godzilla" series.

Currently, there is no official confirmation regarding the future development of "Godzilla-1.0," but it is certain that this film has become one of the highest-grossing movies in the domestic box office in Japan. Toho Company may be eager to further capitalize on this momentum.
