When a director pours their heart and soul into an original film, fans naturally expect them to return for its sequel. However, in Guillermo del Toro's sci-fi epic 'Pacific Rim,' the situation is different. In this captivating science fiction movie, humanity creates giant robots to battle monsters emerging from the depths of the ocean.
Despite writing, producing, and directing the first film, Guillermo del Toro never returned for the sequel.
On the recent 10th-anniversary celebration of 'Pacific Rim,' del Toro revealed why he had never watched the sequel.
"I've never watched 'Pacific Rim 2' because it's like watching a former spouse's home videos," del Toro said. "Regardless of whether they are good or bad, it just leaves you with a complicated sense of unease and indecision."
