On July 26th, numerous media outlets reported the passing of renowned performer Zhao Youliang, who starred in classic works such as 'Debt of Sin' and 'Child Custody War'. The China National Theatre also issued an obituary, stating that Zhao Youliang passed away at 7:15 am on July 26th at his home in Tokyo, Japan, at the age of 78. Zhao Youliang was born on November 1st, 1944, in Shanghai and was originally from Penglai, Shandong Province. He graduated from the Shanghai Theatre Academy.

In 1979, he filmed his first movie 'My Ten Classmates'. In 1987, he starred in 'Death of Autumn White'. In 1994, he filmed the adaptation of Ye Xin's novel 'Debt of Sin', directed by Huang Shuqin. In 1997, he played the lead role in the emotional drama 'Child Custody War', directed by Peng Jun. In 2001, he starred in the first panoramic portrayal of cross-strait relations in China, 'Taiwan Strait'. In 2003, he played the lead role in the crime drama 'Iron-Blood and Passion'. He also appeared in many other film and television dramas.

In addition to film and television, he was deeply involved in the theater. In 1987, he was appointed as the first deputy dean of the China Children's Art Theatre. In 1990, he was appointed as the dean of the former Central Experimental Theatre. On December 25, 2001, the former China Youth Art Theatre and the Central Experimental Theatre merged to form the China National Theatre, with Zhao Youliang as the dean.
