"High Stakes Gamble" Faces Copyright Allegations: Report to Film Bureau and Lawsuit Filed

On August 17th, @Ningbo Tranquil Valley Films released a statement on Twitter, alleging that the movie "High Stakes Gamble" has infringed upon the copyrights of their original film series "Fishing Operation." The matter has been reported to the National Film Bureau, and legal action has been initiated.

"High Stakes Gamble," the blockbuster of this year's summer season, has already raked in a staggering $2.264 billion at the box office. It has consistently dominated daily box office rankings, currently accounting for 58.3% of the total market share.

The film draws inspiration from thousands of real fraud cases, unveiling the sinister secrets of the complete overseas internet fraud industry chain, which is being revealed for the first time on the big screen. Programmer Pan Sheng (portrayed by Zhang Yixing) and model Anna (portrayed by Dilraba Dilmurat) are lured by high-paying overseas job offers, only to unwittingly fall into the trap of an overseas fraud factory. To escape, they set their sights on gambler Ah Tian (portrayed by Wang Ta-lu) and his girlfriend Xiao Yu (portrayed by Rainie Zhou), aiming to cash in and achieve their goals by targeting them. Can Pan Sheng and Anna evade the ruthless torment of the fraud syndicate's leader, Manager Lu (portrayed by Wang Chuanjun), and his accomplice Ah Cai (portrayed by Sun Yang)? Faced with a transnational investigation and pursuit by the police (portrayed by Ada Yung), where will their choices lead them?

Despite the film's tremendous success, the copyright infringement allegations have cast a shadow over it. The production company firmly asserts the film's unique inspiration and independent creative process, vehemently denying any wrongdoing.
