According to foreign media thedirect, following [Ben Affleck] also turned down an offer from DC exec James Gunn after saying they would not be involved in the production of the new DC Universe superhero film.
Danny and Michael Philippou revealed during a social media live broadcast recently that they have temporarily rejected the offer to direct the DC New Universe project. They said: "Recently we had a meeting with DC, and the meeting went very smoothly. They gave me a project, but we decided to reject it for the time being. I would like to see the future development of the new DC Universe."
Previously, James Gunn made it clear that the new DC universe would link the previous DC plots and characters together. The first phase was named "Gods & Monsters", including "Superman: Legacy", "Swamp Thing", "Supergirl: Daughter of Tomorrow" and other projects.
