"Storm of Assassination," directed by Johnnie To, is an adaptation of the highly-rated suspense novel "Detective Lo Fei Series: Death Notice" by Zhou Haohui.

Centered around a mysterious assassin who identifies as the "Judge," Darker openly challenges law enforcement by issuing consecutive "Death Notices," leading to gruesomely executed targets. To uncover the truth, witnesses to an explosion, such as Huang Shaoping (Louis Koo), brilliant detective Luo Fei (Julian Cheung), and the head of the special task force Han Hao (Francis Ng), all get involved. Who is Darker, really? The narrative continually twists, gradually revealing astonishing secrets.
