The film portrays the stories of famous Tang Dynasty poets like Gao Shi and Li Bai, with 48 Tang poems woven into the narrative. Many people watched the movie with their children, allowing the young ones to immerse themselves in the world of poetry.

However, during the roadshow in Luoyang, the film faced questioning and resistance due to the removal of historical elements related to the city. For instance, in reality, Li Bai and Du Fu met in Luoyang, but the movie depicts them meeting in Chang'an.

Some netizens also pointed out that Li Bai's poetry, Pei Min's sword dance, and Zhang Xu's cursive calligraphy were collectively known as the 'Tang Dynasty Three Masterpieces,' which were all associated with Luoyang. However, the director arranged these elements in Yangzhou within the movie.

In response, the director explained that while historical records clearly state that the meeting between Li Bai and Du Fu took place in Luoyang, the film centers around Gao Shi as the male lead, and the audience follows his perspective as the friendship with Li Bai unfolds. Therefore, the changes made to the movie were justified for the sake of the storyline.
