James Wan Open to Directing "Aquaman 3" with Creative Freedom

James Wan, the director of "Aquaman 2," discusses the possibility of helming the third installment in the Aquaman series. Despite previous criticism of DC movie sequels, he expresses his willingness to return for the next movie.
In an interview with "Empire" magazine, James Wan shares his desire to direct the third "Aquaman" film within the DC Universe. However, his involvement hinges on the plans of Warner Bros. for the new DC cinematic universe. Wan states, "I've never directed a third installment in a series before, but as long as I can maintain the same creative freedom as in the first two, I'm ready to take on the director's role again." He adds, "I'm not certain about the direction James Gunn's DC Universe is headed, so who knows? I've learned to never say never."
"Aquaman 2" is scheduled to hit North American theaters on December 20, 2023. Despite the uncertain future, James Wan's aspirations continue to shine with hope.
