The director of "Deadpool 3," Shawn Levy, has revealed that he will not be using the CGI technology commonly employed in most Marvel films. Instead, he will opt for real-life settings to give the upcoming "Deadpool 3" a more grounded feel.

In an interview with "Total Film Magazine," Levy expressed his commitment to shooting "Deadpool 3" on real outdoor locations, despite facing additional labor strike challenges, as opposed to using green screens. "I prepared for this early on, and even though Deadpool is now part of the Marvel Universe, I don't want him to be filmed on a digital backdrop on a soundstage," the director stated.

Levy also mentioned the leaked photos of Deadpool and Wolverine appearing on social media, noting that one of the challenges of shooting "Deadpool 3" in outdoor or real settings is the higher risk of leaks. "It infuriates me when photos leak online," he said. "But this is the price we pay for shooting in real locations."

While Marvel Studios and many other production companies choose CGI over live-action due to cost-effectiveness, this choice comes at a cost. One of them is that if CGI is not used appropriately, it can detach the audience from the story and, if done poorly, distract their attention, as seen in films like "Thor 4" and "The Flash." However, when executed well, CGI can greatly enhance the film's impact, although such instances are rare in today's industry.

In the early days of Marvel movies, such as "Iron Man 1," Marvel still adhered to live-action shooting, leaving a profound impression on countless viewers with the metallic suit of Iron Man. However, as the Marvel Cinematic Universe progressed, the widespread use of CGI in film production became an open preference in Marvel films.
