Contrary to previous reports, the fourth installment, directed by Wes Ball, doesn't directly follow the events of "Planet of the Apes 3" where Caesar meets his demise. Instead, the narrative unfolds approximately 300 years after Caesar led his tribe to the Promised Land. Over time, his legendary leadership has largely faded into obscurity.
