At the awards ceremony, Tony Leung couldn't hold back his tears of joy as he exclaimed, "This truly moves me beyond words! I want to sincerely thank the highly respected director and friend, Lee Ang, as well as the Venice Film Festival for this incredible honor. I also want to express my gratitude to my wife, family, and friends around the world, and to the Hong Kong film industry for nurturing me. I am more than willing to share this award with everyone I have collaborated with over the past 41 years and dedicate it to Hong Kong cinema. Thank you all once again."
