Sequel to "White Snake: Origins" Officially Greenlit – Synopsis Revealed

According to the latest announcement from the National Film Bureau, the sequel to "White Snake: Origins," titled "White Snake: Ephemera," has been given the green light for production. The project is being undertaken by Shanghai Radiance Pictures Co., Ltd., with screenplay by Wang Wei. Notably, the movie's directors as listed on Douban are Chen Jianxi and Li Jiake, with the cast featuring Yang Tianxiang, Zhang Zhe, and Tang Xiaoxi. The film is anticipated to hit screens within 2024.
Set in Hangzhou during the Southern Song Dynasty, the narrative follows the journey of Xiaobai and Xiaoqing in search of Xu Xian, the reincarnation of their past love, A Xuan. As the story unfolds, Xiaobai and Xu Xian's love story reaches a satisfying conclusion as they embark on their marital journey. Together, they establish Bao'an Hall, dedicated to healing and saving lives. However, their supernatural identities are unveiled by the cunning Fahai, who is determined to prevent Xiaobai and Xu Xian from being together.
