Barry uses his superpowers to go back in time and change history, attempting to save his family. However, his actions unintentionally alter the future. In this new future, General Zod returns and threatens to destroy the world. Barry is left alone and helpless unless he can convince a very different and retired Batman to come out of retirement and save the imprisoned Kryptonian, even though this Superman is not the one he is familiar with. Ultimately, in order to save the world he is in and return to his familiar future, Barry's only hope is to run at superhuman speeds for the sake of destiny.
