Recently, Eric Clemens and Becky Clemens of Tomorrow Studios spoke with Deadline about the first season of Netflix's "King of the Pirates," shedding light on some of the challenges they faced while producing the live-action adaptation. The most challenging aspect proved to be the design and setup of the scenes, but through impressive special effects and clever set designs, they managed to bring the pirate world of "King of the Pirates" to life. Judging by the fan reactions since the series debuted, it's clear that the team successfully overcame these obstacles.

"Challenges were clearly multifaceted. We needed to create a pirate world with characters and special effects while maintaining its authenticity," Clemens said when discussing the challenges of producing Netflix's live-action adaptation of "King of the Pirates." "We spent a lot of time working closely with director Marc Jobst, our production designer, and producer Chris Symes, focusing on how to make it feel genuine by addressing its structure, texture, visual effects, and costumes. The team in South Africa was truly amazing."

As Clemens explained, filming in South Africa had its advantages.

"However, weather was also one of the challenges we faced while shooting in South Africa," Clemens continued. "We chose the best time of the year for shooting, when the weather could cooperate, but it wasn't always ideal. Despite that, we had a highly professional and dedicated team that helped us achieve our goals."

Netflix's "King of the Pirates" production team, while overcoming various challenges, has delivered a captivating live-action series that immerses viewers in the fascinating world of pirates.
