Wang Baoqiang's Summer Blockbuster "In the Octagonal Cage" Premieres Online Today!

The official announcement from the movie "In the Octagonal Cage," directed by Wang Baoqiang, reveals that the film will officially premiere online today at 4:00 PM.

This movie marks Wang Baoqiang's latest masterpiece, a remarkable comeback after his previous film, "The Great Wall," was critically panned and earned him the titles of the most disappointing movie and director at the Golden Broom Awards. "In the Octagonal Cage" has become one of this year's highest-rated films, securing the second-highest box office earnings during the summer season. Currently, the film maintains a steady 7.5 rating on Douban.

Directed by Wang Baoqiang and co-written by Qiqi and Wang Baoqiang, the film features a star-studded cast, including Wang Baoqiang, Chen Yongsheng, and Shi Pengyuan in leading roles, with Wang Xun, Zhang Yitong, Ma Hu, and Zhou Debo in supporting roles. Xiaoyang and Li Chen make special guest appearances. The film premiered in mainland China on July 6, 2023.

Based on a true story, "In the Octagonal Cage" tells the tale of Xiang Tenghui (played by Wang Baoqiang), who dedicates himself to nurturing orphaned children in the absence of caregivers, offering them a glimmer of hope for a brighter future.
