On August 25th, the highly anticipated film "The Parrot's Vendetta" unveiled a sneak peek titled "The Pig Scam" along with an intriguing poster, confirming its nationwide release on September 15th. Scripted and directed by Ma Yingxin, under the careful guidance of both Shuang Xuetao, the movie features leading performances by Zhou Dongyu, Zhang Yu, and Zhang Youhao, with Li Meng and Cai Xiangyu also starring, complemented by a cameo appearance from Hu Maotao.
The movie draws its inspiration from numerous real-life cases of "pig scams," authentically depicting the criminal tactics hidden behind the guise of "love." The story follows the journey of Zhou Ran (played by Zhou Dongyu), a modern urban white-collar woman who was duped out of $550,000 in a "online romance." Seeking retribution, she devises a unique plan to take down the pig scammers Lin Zhiguang (played by Zhang Yu) and Xu Zhao (played by Zhang Youhao). A cat-and-mouse game of deceit ensues, leaving audiences to wonder who will ultimately fall into the other's trap. The intricate character dynamics and the unfolding plot provide ample room for imagination.
