"Snow White" Lead Actress Criticizes Original Animation: Even Considers Removing Prince's Role
2023-08-17
According to Dexerto, Rachel Zegler, the lead actress of the live-action film "Snow White," has expressed some unfavorable opinions about the original animated version.
During an interview, she mentioned changing the story of Snow White to reduce the emphasis on "true love": "She won't rely on the prince for rescue, and she won't even dream of true love. Her aspiration is to become a leader. She knows she has the potential to be such a leader. Her late father told her that if she's fearless, fair, courageous, and sincere, she can be a leader."
She even suggested removing the prince's role portrayed by Andrew Burnap from the final version, referring to him as "someone trailing Snow White." When discussing the changes in the remake, Zegler remarked, "It's really not a story about love. It's exciting."
